Racing an automobile around a race track can be intimidating for many, if not all new drivers. However, many have dreams of racing at “Insert Track Name Here”. It could be a track from when you were young or when you first watched a race on TV or a race track near you or a family friend or relative. Our team has not raced most of these tracks, yet, but here are what many have called Bucket List tracks across the US. We also tried to add a global list below, but it is still under construction (and we know even less about those tracks, lol). Anyone interested in sponsoring us to race there and write a more knowledgeable review, we can easily be convinced. Easily. Very Easily.
If you chose to visit or race there, please let the track know we sent you. It may save you money. We hope it does. Again, alphabetical order for convenience (And to minimize controversy, until we know all the tracks personally.)
US and North America
Barber Motorsports Park (AL): Great track with a great museum or a great museum with a great track. Try to keep your team distractions to a minimum. Just try. Hopefully, Lemons will return here next year. We will be there if they do.
Circuit of the Americas (TX): Seems like every type of car that races races here.
Daytona International Speedway (FL): I’ve done literally thousands on laps here, unfortunately all were on our Xbox or PS3. Not just a super speedway, but several road course tracks available. Our friend Chris has raced here in his open wheel car and won, so i’m sure its one of his favorites.
Hallett Motor Racing Circuit (OK): Maybe not the most well known on this list but all we have heard is that this is a pretty amazing place to drive.
Lime Rock Park (CT): This was our local track for several years and still is for Alan. A classic New England feel to the area and host to many different types of cars and series. Turns 3 and 4 are a problem to us. Maybe someday we will figure it out as well as Paul Newman did. Doubtful though. Â
Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IN): Not just the Indy 500, it also has many other races and courses on site.
Mid Ohio Sports Car Course (OH): So close to home, but has not made our team schedule to this point. Hosts a wide variety of racing types and levels throughout their season.
Miller Motorsports Park (UT): Great track near Salt Lake and our friends at Everyday Driver. They love it and go there whenever possible. We hope to join them if possible this fall. Maybe we can hit the track while we are there. Fingers crossed.
Road America (WI):
Road Atlanta (GA): They seem to host all levels of driving from teaching teens to NASCAR. Some people even use the track without a car. I am guessing that is a bit less than one horsepower. Â
Sebring International Raceway (FL): Another multiple use facility with a variety of tacks and courses that services all levels and many series.
Sonoma Raceway (CA): Our other most raced electronically track on this list. When we get out for a Lucky Dog race, this is one of the two tracks we are most interested in driving.
Thunderhill Raceway Park (CA): Multiple tracks of multiple lengths suitable to a wide range of cars and performance. Skid pad facility has a well deserved reputation.
(VIR) Virginia International Raceway (VA): Just outside our local radius, but we have many friends who rave about it. So far, we have only driven it electronically. On our short bucket list for our team.
Watkins Glen International (NY): Another legendary course near us. Why have we not been here yet? Anyone?
Willow Springs (CA): At least two tracks that are known throughout racing with several others to choose from as well, you can usually find a course that matches your skill level and car’s perfromance.
