Track Markers – Their Use and Options

track markers

DwD 0442:  Track Markers – Their Use and Options

On this episode of Dominating with Dawson, we go into how to determine what markers to use when on track and some of our personal preferences for selecting markers.  Initially, Ben goes into the way that he prepares for an upcoming track and how he uses this preparation to get his markers ahead of even arriving at the track.  The importance of markers can vary depending on the type of driver that you are, but even the most “feel” oriented driver can always use track markers to gain additional speed and comfort when in track, especially a new to them track.

ABS

DwD 0440:  Antilock Braking Systems (ABS) On Track

On this episode of Dominating with Dawson, Blake fills in for Ben and we discuss the proper use of ABS systems on a race track.  There are several advantages to using ABS on track, especially when a track is wet, but there are also a few things to be aware of and even potentially better ways to drive than using the ABS system.  Ben does make a guest appearance at the end to add to the discussion, so you still get your does of the Dominator.

Fuel Conservation Methods

DwD 0438:  Fuel Conservation Methods

When endurance racing, the race can often be won or lost by the pit stop strategy and sometimes the race breaks down in such a way that your team can be a few laps short from what is needed to avoid another pit stop and that can make or break the victory.  Ben and Bill discuss some of their favorite ways to save a little gas and extend the number of laps and maybe sneak out a victory when you may not be the fastest in your class.

What is Race Craft and Favorite Examples

race craft

DwD 0418:  Jargon 101:  What is Race Craft and Favorite Examples

Ben, Jeremy, and Bill are unsupervised again this week, so why not end this session with a clean and simple Jargon episode.  Ever wonder what race craft is?  Much like defining “time”, race craft is often understood but difficult to describe.  If you want to listen to us struggle, this may be the episode for you.

Did we get it right?  If not, let us know.

Also, Read and Blake, you have been challenged.

We also go into our favorite or best part of race craft.  So, what is yours?

or a “Try Hard” driver/racer

Real Racers

DwD 412:  Jargon 101:  What is a “Real Racer” or a “Try Hard” driver/racer

When in a paddock, you will often hear people talking about real racer or racers or try hards on the track.  While this is something most will look admirably towards being or becoming, in most cases this discussion is 100% facetious and derogatory.  We discuss what brings upon this impression and alternative ways to think about driving and racing that we think will increase the enjoyment of driving for everyone.

In spite of everything that our team knows, for some reason “they” left Ben and Bill alone again for another episode of Dominating with Dawson.  It all started well enough and then…..  We apologize ahead of time.
