Seat Fitment and Adjustment

OMP Seat

DwD 0494:  Seat Fitment and Adjustment

In this episode of Dominating with Dawson, we go over the importance of properly installing and selecting a racing seat.  While many endurance teams are forced into making compromises for all drivers’ sizes and shapes, it is more ideal to take extra time and make sure the seat and the installation are perfect for a single driver car.  We do go into some of the options and strategies to minimize any issues when in a team situation.

Tire Pressure

DwD 0409:  Tire Pressure Optimization to Track Conditions

On this Dominating with Dawson, we try to go over how to adjust the tire pressure of your tires when on track and the conditions change.  We also get into several of the factors that can impact the absolute tire pressure as well as the relative tire pressure.  This is likely another subject that will require several visits, but we hope this would be a good review and potential resource for when your track visit is exceptionally hot, cold, or wet.  We often hear several theories of how to adjust the tires under different conditions and try to give a logical method that may allow you to determine if your tire pressure need to be increased of decreased.

As a bonus, we go into our thoughts on how to….

How to Install Harness Straps

DwD 0401:  How to Install Harness Straps

On this Dominating with Dawson, we try to go over how to install harness straps in a race car.  It turns out to be quite a challenge to describe this process without the help of any visuals.   We start off with discussing the purchase of the racing harness and then proceed towards the installation of the racing harness into a car.  We include things to do and things not to do.  The installation is much easier than our description makes it seem, lol.

Race Weekend Hangover

Post race hangover

DwD 0396:  Post Race Weekend Hangover Minimization

The post race (weekend) hangover is real, and it has nothing to do with what your drink of choice was during the weekend.  It often comes from a loss of sleep, a lot of activity, and the overuse of your adrenal glands during the weekend.  In the end, Monday or often especially Tuesday, you usually are in a partial zombie state and are from performing at your peak.  During this episode, we cover several ways that the weekends affect each of us and several ways that we use to help minimize the impact and duration of the post race hangover.  If you have any other tips or tricks, please let us know at [email protected].

Race Seat vs OEM Seats

DwD 0382:  Race Seat vs OEM Seats:  Advantages/Disadvantages and When to Change to a Race Seat

We talk about some of the key differences between a racing seat vs your OEM seat.  This also includes the seat belt and harness differences.  Obviously, there is a difference between the construction and installation of the race seat, but their use also makes a few “normal” use cases a bit more difficult.  We cover several of the differences and advantages and disadvantages of the conversion.  We also go with when it may be a good decision and when it really should be a non-optional addition to your car.  As always, try to keep your safety as the top priority.
