GHiT 0423:  Retreat From Moscow 2023 – Day 2 and 3

We join Rally Master Jeff from the end of Day 1 of the 2023 Retreat From Moscow Lemons Rally.  Vicki and Bill were able to meet the rally kickoff meetup last night and were assisting with pre-rally inspections this morning.  We reviewed todays festivities and were joined by Mike and Ed, two friends from the Rally who are driving in their early 2000’s T-Bird.  THUNDERBIRD.

Then: We join Rally Master Jeff from the end of Day 3 of the 2023 Retreat From Moscow Lemons Rally.  Rally Master Jeff was a bit under the weather but the rally must go on.  Also, we will need a short moment of silence for last rally review guests red Thunderbird.

Ryan, Matt, Audra, and Vicki go through Our Fall Failage 2022 Lemons Rally. It was our team’s first ever Lemons rally. It started in Boston, then Albany, Burlington, and eventually ended up near Boston.  As with all things Lemons, it was a ton of fun and many, many laughs were had.  On this episode, we try to summarize what the rally entails. Day 1: This episode is recorded live from the end point of day one for the Fall Failage Rally.  The rally started near Boston and ended near Albany NY.  We have a ton of photos posted to the Garage Heroes In Training podcast and many, many others can be found using the hashtag #lemonsrally on the IG.  Sorry for a bit of the background noise but there is always a lot of rally activity.  We plan on having a few more updates through the remaining rally days and can tell that everyone is having a great time.  So, if you want to live vicariously through everyone’s exploits, join us is internet eavesdropping on Instagram and on the next episode of our podcast, or two, or three, tbd.

Day 2: Day two has concluded and we are reporting live from a restaurant arcade somewhere in either NY State or Vermont.  It has been a long trip and another long day on the road.  Spirits remain high and the rain has held off to this point.  In addition, we have three entrants with birthdays today, so everyone wish them all a happy birthday.  On this episode we are joined by Rally Master Jeff Stobbs and Tarl and Kirk, two entrants from the Cut Rate Roofing team in their “convertible” Econoline.

Rally Master Jeff Stobbs returns to report in live from the awards ceremony of the 2022 Rust Belt RambleRust Belt Ramble Rally between Detroit, Buffalo, Cleveland, The year there was a ceremony for dearly departed car makes of the past.  We cover highlights of the trip as well as many of the entries.  We are then joined by Finn, from The Car Farm channel on YouTube.  They entered the rally in their Buick Grand National.  Why is a Buick Grand National on a Lemons Rally.  Listen to find out.

One of the highlights from this event is the introduction of the Lemons Rally grill badges.  The badges actually began at the last rally, but we didn’t do a good job of interviewing so its new to us.  Lol.  Vicki also gets a few tips on what to do for her first upcoming rally this fall.

Rally Master Jeff Stobbs returns to summarize the recent Four Corners Rally.  We missed the daily updates for this one due to a whole buffet of reasons, including multiple times zones, work travel, food sickness, etc.  So instead of our nightly updates, we thought we would try a summary of the entire event.  We will return to our previously scheduled daily updates on the next rally.  Or at least we will try.  It sounds like we missed a good rally and some bad food.  Oh, and Bill forgot his microphone cord so he decided to speak through a paper towel roll, as is tradition on endurance racing podcasts across the country.  And the world.
